New preservatives with Zemea^® available from Salicylates & Chemicals, Mumbai, India
Saliguard CGZ and Saliguard MIZ are two new preservative systems available from Salicylates & Chemicals. Saliguard CGZ, made from Zemea^® and Caprylyl Glycol, is free from parabens, formaldehyde and isothiazolone. Saliguard MIZ, made from Zemea^® propanediol and methyl isothiazolone, is free from parabens and formaldehyde. Globally approved, these preservative systems are reported to be an effective alternative to formaldehyde releasers.

New Esters made with Zemea^® Propanediol

Abitec Corporation, owned by Associated British Foods (London, UK), combines synthesis and analytical expertise in organic compounds with a high quality manufacturing operation to offer a wide range of exceptional ingredients to its customers. Abitec has recently launched two new esters developed using Zemea^® propanediol.

Captex^® 125 (propanediol dicaprylate) and Captex^® 225 (propanediol dicaprylate/dicaprate) are two new esters produced from renewable resources of natural vegetable origin. Compared to traditional propylene glycol and propane diol esters, the raw materials used contribute to a potential reduction in the green house gas emissions by about 10% and provides a total energy savings of about 8% following a cradle-to-gate analysis. Both of these esters are water white, low viscosity, non-greasy oils which are especially suited for personal care applications as moisturizers, emollients,viscosity modifiers, coemulsifiers and solubilizers.

PELEMOL^® D3GP (Dimer Dilinoeyl Dimer Dilinoleate AND Propanediol Dicaprylate/Caprate AND Polyglyceryl-3 Behenate) is a 100% vegetable derived functional equivalent to animal-based mixed alkyl cholesterol and lanosterol-based esters. Its soft, butter-like texture melts readily into the lips and and provides long-lasting gloss. It imparts cushion and and can function as a replacement for petrolatum. The product is odorless and tasteless.
