Todd Sutton, President
Todd was appointed President of DuPont Tate and Lyle Bio Products in November, 2011. He joined DuPont after graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in Finance and Information Technology in 1985. After working in the IT field for three years, he moved into the Corian® business where he held a range of sales, marketing, and regional management positions. Following that, he lived and worked in Hong Kong for 2-1/2 years as the regional product manager before returning to Delaware and taking over the Commercial Business segment in North America. He subsequently served as the Global Marketing Director for the SolaeTM soy protein business in St. Louis. Most recently, he was Vice President at Liqui-Box where he held a range of business leadership positions.
Todd and his wife Pam are natives of Ohio, have two grown children, and are avid Ohio State Buckeye fans.
Natalie Beckwith, Chief Financial Officer
Natalie joined DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products in August 2012 as Chief Financial Officer and is located at the Company's Headquarters and Manufacturing site in Loudon, TN. Natalie has responsibility for accounting policy and operations, financial forecasting, business financial planning, corn purchasing and various legal entity reporting responsibilities.
Natalie has been with DuPont since 2001 in a variety of financial roles including auditing, accounting, and business analysis. DuPont Tate & Lyle is her second assignment as a financial leader for a joint venture. Natalie obtained a Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware and a MBA from Drexel University. Natalie is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and has been a Certified Internal Auditor.
Natalie and her husband James reside outside of Farragut, TN with their two year old son, also named James. Outside of work, Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and photography.
Stephen J. Hurff, Vice President - Marketing & Sales
Steve is the Vice President of Marketing & Sales for DuPont Tate and Lyle Bio Products Company located at the international sales offices in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. Steve has worked for the DuPont Company over 30 years in a range of management, technical, manufacturing, marketing and sales positions across several strategic DuPont businesses.
In Steve's current role he leads the DTL marketing and sales commercial efforts with professionals located across Americas, Europe and Asia.
Steve is a graduate from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, a BS in Chemistry and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
Steve and his spouse reside in Newark, DE, USA with a blended family of three boys and three girls and one granddaughter so far. Hobbies include performance cars, wakeboarding, softball, sporting clays and a range of fitness activities. Steve and Amy are avid Philadelphia Phillies major league baseball fans.
Jim Zahn, Ph.D.: Vice President of Technology
Dr. Zahn joined DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products in February 2011 as the company's Vice President of Technology. Jim has more than 17 years' experience in developing and commercializing new products and biomanufacturing processes in start-up, and mature business, including Coskata, DuPont, The Dow Chemical Company, and Eli Lilly & Company. Work in these roles led to over 30 peer-reviewed publications in basic research and product development, fourteen patents in biotechnology, launch of several new green chemistry products, including the successful Spinetoram, and over $31 million in company savings as a certified Six Sigma Green Belt project manager. Jim earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Microbiology from Iowa State University, and undergraduate degrees from Central College in Pella, IA.
Jim resides in Farragut, TN with his wife Jody. They have one child in medical school, one child in college, and two younger children at home. Hobbies include volunteering for local non-profit and school organizations, SCUBA, cycling, and golf.
Pete Colombo, Product Director
Pete was appointed Product Director of DuPont Tate and Lyle Bio Products in June 2013 where his responsibilities include product management, S&OP, product stewardship, sourcing, regulatory compliance, quality systems, and customer service. Pete also leads the competitive intelligence team, oversees application IP, and is the key interface with the DuPont Sorona® business to coordinate production, logistics, and long range planning. Prior to his current role as Product Director, Pete was a Senior Account Executive with DuPont Tate & Lyle responsible for business development in the Americas.
Pete joined DuPont after graduating from The Ohio State University in 1989 with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. He has held positions in IT, manufacturing, technical service, marketing, sales, and corporate plans over his 25 year career with DuPont while earning advanced degrees in business and finance.
Pete is an empty nester residing in East Tennessee where he is active in church-based philanthropy, restoring his rusty tennis game, and indulging his new appreciation for bluegrass music.
Denis Burlaud, Account Executive - Europe, Middle East, Africa
Denis Burlaud has worked for the past 4 years as Sales Manager representing Dupont Tate & Lyle Bio productsTM in Europe Middle East & Africa. Denis received his engineering degree in Biochemistry and Polymeric Sciences from Paris University and his MBA from La Sorbonne University. Previously to joining DuPont Tate & Lyle Denis spent six years with DuPont de Nemours where he held various European positions in Sales and Marketing for different businesses.
Outside work, Denis enjoys his 2 young daughters, his old classic car and his Burgundy wine cellar
Karen Chiou, Sales Specialist
I joined DuPont Tate & Lyle as a Sales Specialist in Oct. 2012 and I’m located in Taipei, Taiwan. I was with DuPont for more than 19 years before joining DT&L. In the DuPont role I worked as an experienced CSR, Executive Assistant of Director, MC leader of Teflon® and Supplier Chain Leader at Chemical Solution Enterprise. I’ve also been the Sorona® Marketing Specialist since Oct. 2008 at Industrial BioSciences.
I received my six sigma GB certification in 2003, which brought me a huge cost savings under weight loss improvement of annual frequent domestic shipment deliveries.
I hold my B.S. in International Trade from Taiwan Chinese Culture University. My first job was experienced at Citi Bank Taiwan Branch and was a challenging job, but I received a DuPont offer later on which helped me to pursue my personal professional field.
I love doing Yoga to keep my health in line and enjoy my leisure time to take outdoor activities with my family like climbing mountains, jogging…etc. I also enjoy listening to pop music, especially during my relaxing time.
Carl Cao, Sales Specialist - China
Carl Cao is a sales specialist in Dupont Tate & Lyle Bio Products starting as of March 2012. He is based in Shanghai China to serve the customers in the China region. Carl has 7 years business development experience in environment protection industries after he graduated from East China University of Science and Technology with his B.S. in Material Science in 2004. During his personal time, he likes to travel and to ride Go-Karts.

Lirys Cullinan, Market Development Manager
Lirys joined DuPont Tate and Lyle Bio Products in October 2013 and is located at the international sales offices in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. Lirys joined DuPont in 2012 after graduating from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an MBA degree. She is in her second rotation in the Marketing Leadership Development Program for DuPont. Previously, she led marketing strategy efforts in several businesses as a member of the Marketing Effectiveness project team in DuPont Corporate Marketing and Sales.
Lirys graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Bachelors of Arts degrees in Journalism and French. Before completing her MBA, she was a regional marketing manager for the American Diabetes Association. In her free time, Lirys enjoys camping, watching the Tarheels play basketball, and running in the woods with her two dogs, Lucy and Ranger.
Rose Durham, Global Marketing Manager
Rose Durham is the Global Marketing Manager for DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products. She began working with the joint venture in January 2008. Prior to this role, she worked at DuPont for 33 years in a variety of marketing roles across several businesses including DuPont Chemicals, DuPont Corporate Marketing, DuPont Titanium Technologies and DuPont Electronics & Communications.
In her current (and most exciting) role, Rose has responsibility for implementation of the strategic marketing process for the Zemea® and Susterra® brands. She manages all of the global marketing communications, PR, trade show events, market research studies, collateral development and other promotional activities. She also works on the strategy development process for new market opportunities. She has co-authored several articles in the cosmetics and personal care market that have been published in various journals.
Rose graduated from the University of Delaware with an MBA (International Marketing) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt and has received Advertising Excellence awards from two leading personal care magazines. Her outside interests include music, photography, international travel and spending time with her fiance, Joel. Rose is happily adjusting to becoming an "empty nester" with her daughter now in college and a son who is working and living on his own. She works from the Wilmington, Delaware global marketing & sales headquarters.
Carole Feole, Account Executive - Americas
Carole Feole is an Account Executive for the personal & home care, food and industrial segments for the Americas. Carole has been with DuPont for over 20 years in sales and marketing roles and joined DuPont Tate & Lyle in August 2007. Currently she manages 6 distributors and has direct account responsibility in all markets. She is a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and IFT. During Carole's DuPont career, she has received multiple awards including "Excellence through People" in marketing and "Certificate of Excellence" in selling. Carole received a B.S. degree from The Ohio State University. As an avid runner for over 30 years, she runs for a local club competing in the USATF Mid-Atlantic running series and many races throughout the country completing 8 marathons.
Mureo Kaku, Account and Distributor Manager - Asia Pacific
Mureo Kaku received his Ph.D from Kyoto University where he studied polymer synthesis and developing unique functional polymers. He taught at Mie University, Japan as lecturer before he joined DuPont CR&D. He has worked with DuPont for more than 20 years mostly in new product developments to create new business for DuPont. Currently he is located in Japan and is responsible for DuPont Tate & Lyle business in Asia excluding Japan, Taiwan and China. He enjoys working with customers and looks forward to seeing many new products commercialized to benefit consumers through DuPont Tate & Lyle. He enjoys exercising and hiking when he has free time.
Bob Miller, Account Manager - North America
Bob is the Account Manager - North America for DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products and is based in Wilmington, Delaware. Prior to his sales role, Bob was DuPont Tate & Lyle's Technical Service Manager supporting customer and business needs across all end uses for Zemea® and Susterra®. Bob began his career with the DuPont Company in 2003 as a member of DuPont's Central Research & Development organization.
Bob received a B.S. in Chemistry from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA and completed graduate work in chemistry at the University of Delaware. He is an author on several patents and technical publications involving the use of 1,3-propanediol, and received the DuPont Excellence Award for Sustainable Growth.
Bob and his wife Melissa reside in Media, PA, USA. Outside of work, Bob enjoys sports, his Weber grill, summers at the Jersey shore and going to Phillies baseball games.
Gowri Nagarajan, Account Manager - India
Gowri currently leads the DuPont business in India since he moved back to India in July 2008. Prior to arriving in India in July 2008, Gowri spent over six years in other DuPont businesses in the USA in various roles including Fluoroproducts and Crop Protection. Prior to joining DuPont, Gowri began his professional career in the high paced environment of a Silicon Valley start-up (PolyStor) in the San Francisco Bay area and was responsible for bringing next generation lithium ion battery technology to the automotive and electronics market and spent 4 years there.
Gowri holds his Doctoral Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina (1998) and a MBA from Drexel University, Philadelphia (2007). Gowri holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering from the Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), Karaikudi, INDIA (1993). He received the University of South Carolina Dean's Award for Excellence in Graduate Study for his Doctoral dissertation on Advanced Battery Design. He was also the recipient of the prestigious NSF (National Science Foundation) Fellowship during his tenure at South Carolina that enabled him to spend 2 years of Co-op at Hoechst Celanese, Charlotte, NC.
A fanatic of South Indian classical Music, Gowri has two daughters, Madhuvanti (7 yrs) and Hemavati (4 yrs) and happily lives in Delhi with his wife, children, and parents. While in the US, Gowri followed Sports very keenly and is proud to say that he has seen MJ's final act at the old Charlotte Hornets stadium, seen the Panthers in action at the Ericsson stadium, rooted for the Carolina Gamecocks many times at the William Brice stadium (have also seen Peyton in action when the Volunteers visited us, we are in SEC), followed the Yankees keenly after 1996 WS 3rd game win against Braves, followed them in many games in the Athletics stadium in Oakland and finally topped it off with a trip to the Yankee stadium in 2008.
Mayumi Shirai, Account Manager - Japan
Mayumi Shirai is a Senior Sales Rep at DuPont Tate and Lyle. She has her bachelor's degree in Psychology. She resides in Tokyo, Japan. Her primary roles at DuPont Tate and Lyle are Sales of Zemea® and Susterra® as well as Marketing and Sales of Sorona® and Cerenol®. She has been with DuPont for over 20 years. In her time at Dupont she has achieved the DKK performance award for Sorona® interior fabrics for automotives. In her free time she enjoys fitness and playing with her children.
David Shaw, Sales Specialist
David joined DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products in October 2013 and is based in Wilmington, Delaware. David joined DuPont in June 2012 after graduating with a degree in Marketing from the Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University located in Philadelphia, PA. He is in his second rotation of the DuPont Commercial Development Program. Previously, he was part of the Global Communications team for Industrial Biosciences leading a variety of projects from global rebranding to assisting in the launch of the DuPont Innovation Center located in Johnston, IA.
David currently resides in Philadelphia, PA, USA. Outside of work, David stays active by going to the gym and playing intramural sports. He also enjoys watching his Philadelphia sport teams and attending concerts and other events around the city.
Peter A. von den Kerkhoff, Account Executive EMEA
Peter joined the DuPont Tate & Lyle team as Account Executive for EMEA in 2014. He started his career within DuPont 1975 as an technician in the coatings and resin business. Since that time he worked in different DuPont businesses in PM, Sales and Marketing. Prior to his current responsibility he was Corporate Account Executive, introducing the entire DuPont product portfolio to key customers and member of the DuPont sales academy.
Peter and his spouse Iwona resides in Wuppertal / Germany. Outside works he loves cooking, video editing and spending time with family and friends.
Angie Surface, Marketing Specialist
Angie Surface joined DuPont Tate and Lyle Bio Products in 2008 as Office Manager before being promoted into a Marketing Specialist role within DuPont. Angie lives in Knoxville and works at the Company's World Headquarters and Manufacturing site in Loudon, TN. She supports the VP of Marketing & Sales, Global Marketing Manager, as well as the Sales & Marketing team. She graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2009 with her B.S. in Business Administration and also received her Social Media & Marketing certification from the Univeristy of Tennessee.
Outside of work Angie loves spending time with her two small children Kinsleigh (who is involved in gymnastics, dance and soccer and Cayson (who is involved in soccer).
Candace Ward, Customer Service Manager
Candace is the Customer Service Manager for DuPont Tate & Lyle and is located in Decatur, IL. Candace has worked with the joint venture since 2007 when she began her career with Tate & Lyle. Candace obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (with an emphasis on international business) from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. Prior to joining Tate & Lyle, she worked for 13 years for Bachrach’s, a men’s clothing company, as a Sourcing Manager.
Candace and her husband Andy live in the small town of Stonington, IL with their eight year old son, Brockton. Outside of work, Candace enjoys spending time with family, going to the gym, reading, attending Brockton’s sporting events and swimming.
